Sample Personalized Report

Questionnaire ID: 589-024-531
Right Knee
January 5, 2009

We hope this information is a benefit to you and that your knee problem can be resolved satisfactorily.

Based upon the analysis of your responses to the questionnaire, it is probable (90% probability) that you have a surgically treatable condition in your involved knee.

Various surgical conditions that may exist within your knee are listed in three categories: probable (greater than 50% probability); possible (20-50% probability); and unlikely (less than 20% probability). The statistical likelihood of each condition is expressed in percentage after the letter "p" which stands for probability.

Probable Conditions:

  • torn medial meniscus (p=91%)
  • degenerative arthritis (p=87%)
  • degenerative arthritis - medial femoral condyle (p=71%)
  • torn medial meniscus - degenerative (p=59%)

Possible Conditions:

  • degenerative arthritis - femoral trochlea (p=48%)
  • torn medial meniscus - traumatic (p=41%)
  • degenerative arthritis - patellar (p=22%)

Unlikely Conditions:

  • degenerative arthritis - medial tibial condyle (p=13%)
  • degenerative arthritis - lateral femoral condyle (p=7%)
  • degenerative arthritis - lateral tibial condyle (p=6%)
  • torn anterior cruciate ligament (p=5%)
  • loose body (p=4%)
  • plica syndrome (medial) (p=2%)
  • plica syndrome (supra) (p=<1%)
  • absent anterior cruciate ligament (p=<1%)
  • osteochondritis dissecans (p=<1%)
  • patellar malalignment (p=<1%)
  • dislocated patella (p=<1%)
  • subluxation patella (p=<1%)

There may be a discrepancy between this report and any given doctor's opinion. If that occurs, a discussion with the doctor and/or further testing may resolve the issue.

Scientific Explanation:

A clinical impression requires a foundation of evidence and subsequent confirmation. There is scientific and statistical foundation for the clinical impressions rendered in this report. Your responses to the questionnaire provided the evidence to make the above analysis. The foundation for the clinical impression was a comparison between your responses and the responses of patients from a large clinical database with knee conditions confirmed at surgery.

Utilizing FreeKnee™, it is possible to report the existence of a surgically treatable condition within your knee (clinical impression) and list various types of conditions.

This method of determining the presence of an operative condition has been validated and found to be 80% reliable.

Although the various conditions being considered by FreeKnee™ may be extensive, it is not possible to determine every and all conditions with high statistical certainty by this method. For instance, it is not possible from this database to make a determination of the presence or absence of rheumatoid arthritis, a torn lateral meniscus, or tumor. These three conditions would require additional assessment, physical examination, laboratory testing, and/or medical imaging.

People who are heavy smoker's and have knee pain may have lung cancer and this consideration should be investigated independently by the visitor to our site.

The clinical impression or any one of the listed conditions rendered by FreeKnee™ is typically confirmed by various medical imaging tests or by direct visualization at the time of surgery. The information supplied in this report is intended to assist the health care provider and should not be the only determinant for diagnosis and treatment.

Since the use of this information and subsequent clinical decisions are beyond the control of Information Health Network, Information Health Network makes no warranty or representation regarding the results that may occur because of the use of this information.

It is hoped that this information will be helpful in the care and treatment of your knee problem.
